A Day in the Studio

On March 28th, I will be hosting a special extended studio workshop titled:
From Idea to Artwork: Getting Unstuck & Getting Started
A four-hour immersive studio workshop with Stephanie Rado Taormina.
Choose the full session (11–3) or join for a focused two-hour painting experience from 11–1.
This intimate session will guide a small group through the process of creating a work of abstract art—from the first spark of an idea to a strong, buildable foundation on canvas.
Rather than a traditional class, this experience is designed to feel more like a creative mentorship inside the studio. Together, we’ll explore how to begin a painting, build layers with confidence, and move an idea forward with clarity and instinct.
We will be painting on canvas, and all supplies are included—so you can simply arrive ready to work.
Midway through the full session, we’ll pause for a restorative break and share a light lunch, prepared by me and enjoyed together in my home just adjacent to the studio.
This is the first time I’m offering the workshop in this format, and I’ve chosen to keep it intentionally intimate—limited to just five participants.
No art experience is necessary—just the willingness to step in and begin.

Closing Thoughts on Time & Transformation

My 20-year retrospective, Time & Transformation, remains on view at the GoggleWorks through March 15.
On opening night, when the artist talk began, I took a deep breath — and simply let the work guide the conversation.
Moving from painting to painting, I spoke about the experiences that shaped them — the truths of my life as a woman, a mother, a daughter, a friend, and a lover.
It was a poignant moment for me. People who have known me for years discovered something new in both my words and the work itself.
For anyone interested in any of the paintings from the exhibition, please feel free to reply directly to this newsletter, and I will gladly share more information.
LATELY, I’VE BEEN THINKING…
“Life gave me the experiences, and my desire to paint became my way of articulating what I didn’t yet have words for.”
Until next time,
